Save -- Saves the workflow without Publishing it
Save and Continue: Save and continue with the workflow. User can directly click 'Save' button in ribbon for this setting.
Save and Close: Save and close the workflow.
Publish -- Options to Publish the workflow or Publish and Close it. When Publishing, you can add a Comment or version number. This will show up in the Version History.

Publish and Close: Publish and close the workflow.
Close - Closes the canvas. Be sure to save or publish any work before closing.
